This coming weekend we will celebrate Memorial Day, a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered. We take this yearly opportunity to remember all the men and women who bravely served their country in the armed services. Bill and I both have fathers who served in the Navy during WWII and fortunately made it home to raise families and choose professions that would benefit their communities. Bill's father became a well-known chiropractor and my Dad was a speech pathologist.
Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home has honored people like our fathers for decades and still have the plaque placed in our flag planter decades ago by Don Wolfe's wife, Dot. It states:
This plaque at the base of the nation's flag is a commemorative tribute to the men and women, both living and dead, who honorably served in the armed forces of the United States of America, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all...
We hope everyone will enjoy the upcoming holiday and remember all those who gave their lives so that we may live ours in freedom.
